About Coca de Alba...
The paths of these lands of Castile are the paths that saw Santa Teresa in her wandering life as a founder. And without a doubt, these lands of Alba hold onto an emotional memory of the passage of the Mother on so many of her journeys. The life of Teresa de Jesús was a constant journey: Camino de Valladolid, Salamanca, Alba de Tormes….
These paths that we walk were, without a doubt, founded by her.
The devotion and love of these lands to the holy wanderer over the centuries mean that her memory lives on among us.
Every year Coca de Alba commemorates her last trip with the arrival of hundreds of walkers who take the route of the Teresian March, from Medina del Campo to Alba de Tormes, and since 1981, every September 20th , they visit our Church to say the morning prayer and garner strength to finish their journey to Alba de Tormes.
