About Peñarandilla
Teresa de Jesús, on her journeys between Ávila and Alba de Tormes, passed through the town of Peñarandilla and clearly saw the silhouette of its Mudejar church.
Juan de la Cruz did the same when he travelled in January 1571 from Mancera de Abajo to Alba de Tormes to accompany Santa Teresa at the inauguration of the founding of her convent.
This closeness has created tradition and familiarity, to the point that since the Teresian beatification in 1614, the town and parish of Peñarandilla have shared the Teresian devotion of the entire land of Alba and have fully participated in the pilgrimage to its October festivities.
